My little Lost weekend
My wife, her mom and my daughter all went to Jacksonville FL for the week. Visiting family and enjoying the beach without me. So that means I get to stay home, eat Taco Bell and veg-out on Playstation 3.
I’ve also managed to watch the entire first season of Lost, all of The Office(BBC originals), and of course Bond… James, Bond. I’m up to OHMSS now.
A couple funny things happened. I can’t believe I missed it the first time I saw it, but in episode “Homecoming” when Charlie is running his game on the girl. The conversations goes something like”Where is your dad?” She says “Oh, he’s he’s off in Slough buying some paper company or something” I had to rewind and turn on the captions to make sure I heard that right! I laughed and almost had my drink come out of my nose!
Then I was playing The Simpsons Game and there is a part where you need to save Lenny and Carl from the logging machine and Carl screams out “Oh no! Now I’ll never know what happens between Claire and Charlie”.
Then just last night after falling asleep watching the end of season one, my cat jumps on me and wakes me up. I look over at the clock and it was 1:08.
Oooooooooooooooooooo…..

Re: My little Lost weekend
Lateralus, I have been wondering where you have been hiding?
I almost commented here before I realized, it would have completely ruined all my diligent work on my topic called my 475th post.
I have been noticing how close you are to getting on Jacobs list, and I have been getting dangerously close, to passing you by.
I now have only 24 more to go before I can join you there!
[edit]
I almost forgot those things you mentioned that seemed like coincidence...
I heard this said by "Mel Gibson" in "Signs" and I believe it...
"There are no Coincidences." This is also a theme in Lost !

One more posting like that Lateralus and we are staging an intervention...
Same goes for you KSJ
By the way. the TV shows "Lost in Space" and "Land of the Lost" both have the word "Lost" in their titles.
Coincidence?
I THINK NOT!!!!!

Re: My little Lost weekend
The Slough/Office remark was definitely intentional.
(I think JJ Abrams, or perhaps someone else linked to Alias and Lost, had met Ricky Gervais when he did a guest star slot on that show. Maybe he only got the gig because someone involved in the casting was a fan of The Office (UK - first and best!).
You ever see Gervais' Extras? It's excellent. Two series and an extended Xmas special to wrap it all up just like the The Office was. Get involved!

Yes, I laughed when I heard that one, too. It kind of irked me, though, because the game was released at the end of October 2007, and Charlie met his end on Lost in May. Then again, with Lost, I suppose a death doesn't spell the end of things happening between each other (especially if they're both Island spirits now).
Then again, maybe Carl just has a lot of TiVo-ed shows to catch up on, too. He might still think Ben's name is Henry.

Oh yeah, Extras is amazing. They showed that on HBO over here last year i think. My wife will watch that, but she doesn't like The Office. Go Figure.
I started to watch Spaced the other night but stopped after the first episode. She might actually like that one so i'll wait to watch that with her. I think she has a thing for Simon Pegg anyways.
